Taming the Crazy

Can you think of something both beautiful and horrific
Chaotic and rhythmic
A place of peace and serenity
Yet full of war and debauchery
So complex and so simple
Foggy like a cloud but clear as crystal
And you wonder, could this be a riddle?
No, not really, just giving the truth a bit of a tickle
It’s very odd you see
Just how chaotic it can be
But no worries, it locks that up and away
And lies about how much it misbehaves
In fear of it being called ‘insane’
So, instead it just fastens away all that pain
And it suffers quietly in the corner
While the lies of beauty seals around it, a collar
Because people don’t really want to see the truth
No, because ‘normal’ people are supposed to be immune
So it’s lie after lie about the beauty
And they write off the crazy as just ‘moody’
We ride along because we don’t want them to think our mind is that shaky
Because after all, we’re supposed to be taming the crazy

Your pal, Wendy
